Hi friends! Happy Friday! It’s been a great week. I’ve had my two college kids home and it’s been the biggest treat. I feel guilty that we couldn’t take them on a warm-weather vacation, but I think they’ve enjoyed their time at the all inclusive (aka…home!). The 24-hour room service, around-the-clock laundry, and unlimited yoga sessions have made us a pretty good spring break spot after all.
It’s been a busy week as we’re sprinting to our spring break next Friday. It can’t come soon enough. But until then, I’ve got a fun list of Friday favorites for you!
Dancers & Denim: Tomorrow, Lake Forest’s Lillie Alexander is launching their new denim shop with their Dancers & Denim event. All day, they will have Irish dancers performing as they officially debut their new denim department. The Lillie team has immersed themselves in the world of denim, educating themselves on everything from fit to pocket placement to stretch. Their goal is to help a woman (or girl) of any age or size find the perfect pair of jeans. I went last week and they made it quick, easy, and fun. I worked with the incredibly stylish Julie Babat, who the store rightfully calls the “denim whisperer,” and she had me outfitted in less than 30 minutes. If you can stop by tomorrow, do! If you purchase a pair of denim, they will monogram it for free.
Gingham cuteness: Next week, we’re going to see Grace and we land in London on her 25th birthday. She is obsessed with this brand that is new to me, Damsen Madder. I picked up this jacket for her and I can’t wait to see her wear it. (I feel okay sharing this here because my kids don’t read my posts! Ha!)
“A” college vs. “The” college: We had our college kick-off meeting for Jimmy at the high school this week and I wrote about an aha moment I had. I can’t believe it took my five kids to finally understand this. Sharing here in case it helps you!
Are you a knitter? Earlier this year, I interviewed the darling Ashley Lillis who has created a knitting empire right from her Lake Forest home. She is designing sweater patterns monthly and teaching her followers how to make them. If you haven’t checked out her Instagram page yet, you should! You don’t even have to be a knitter to be inspired.
Give me all the green: St. Paddy’s Day gave me a good excuse to round up some cute things in my favorite color. This is a great post for my Notre Dame moms who might have some spring fun coming up on campus.
Spring lip and nail colors: Last weekend at the fundraiser I was helping with, I had several people ask me about my lipstick and nail polish because they thought it would be perfect for spring break (even though I wear it every day!). I was wearing this and this on my lips and this on my nails.
I know it’s Lent, but…: Have you tried Garrett Popcorn’s limited edition Frango Chocolate Crisp Caramel Mix? It is so delicious! Last year, I bought it to have at Christmas. I didn’t see it on their website again until this month–maybe a St. Patrick’s Day tie in? Either way, I couldn’t resist getting a little tin to enjoy on Sundays.
InnBeauty’s Extreme Eye Cream: Last week, my favorite face lotion launched an eye cream! I ordered it right away and have high hopes! I promise to keep you posted.
That’s all for today. Have a great weekend!
